Aloe Vera Gel Bottles

IN RECENT YEARS, plastics containing bisphenol A (BPA) have come under suspicion. Widely used in the manufacturing of food and drink containers, BPA may be a factor in adverse health effects—especially in children.

Accordingly, many people want to know whether Aloe 1 jugs are BPA-free, and we definitely don’t blame them for asking. After all, we use BPA-free containers for our personal needs. The threat has yet to be solidified scientifically, but we don’t want to take any unnecessary risks.

At Stockton Aloe 1, we care about our customers … naturally. Our Aloe vera gel is stored and delivered in BPA-free jugs. 

For those who would like specific information, we gladly provide the following data:

• Plastics are often used to hold and store food. Not all plastics are created the same. Even with the best of plastics, caution should be used. Heating food in plastics increases the molecular activity in the plastic and increases the likelihood that the plastic will leach into the contents.
• Aloe #1 Aloe vera Gel is kept frozen. The cold temperature decreases the molecular activity in the plastic and decreases the likelihood of leaching into the fresh frozen aloe vera gel.
• Our specifications to suppliers call for BPA-free jugs.

Our current supply line for plastic jugs leads to CKS Packaging, Inc. CKS Packaging uses Star Pet Resins, and they provided us with the following letter:

StarPet Inc. certifies that all PET Resins manufactured and supplied by its manufacturing facility in Asheboro, NC, do not contain bisphenol A or the following phthalates:

This information is pertaining to the bottles we have used since 2010: Plastic 64 oz. bottles labeled CKS 70022 recycle code 2. Note: Each contains 58 oz. of Aloe vera 100% gel (we do not fill them completely, since the gel is shipped frozen and there must be room in the bottle for expansion of the liquid as it freezes).
