What Makes Aloe #1® Different?
Aloe #1® is made from the hand-filleted inner leaf of the Aloe barbadensis miller Stockton variety, grown and processed in Florida.

What to Expect: Natural Taste, Texture and Appearance
This is not a smooth, clear, neutral-tasting aloe beverage. It is raw aloe vera gel kept intentionally close to its natural state.
- Taste: Naturally vegetal and sometimes bitter
- Texture: Thick, slippery and pulpy
- Appearance: Cloudy, with visible pulp and natural separation
- Color: May appear clear, greenish, brownish, pink, red or purple
- Variation: Flavor, color and bitterness can differ between harvests and batches
These variations are normal and are not signs that the aloe has spoiled. They occur because Aloe #1® is not filtered, decolorized, flavored or standardized.
Why Frozen Aloe Can Turn Pink, Red or Purple
Do not be alarmed if your aloe changes color while frozen. Natural compounds in freshly processed aloe can react to cold temperatures, oxygen and light, causing the gel to develop a pink, reddish or purple color.
The color commonly becomes lighter or clear again as the aloe thaws. This temporary color change does not reduce the acemannan and does not mean the product is spoiled.
Judge the product by its handling and freshness—not by frozen color alone. Open the shipping package promptly and refrigerate or refreeze the aloe when it arrives.

Why Aloe #1® Ships Frozen
Because Aloe #1® contains no preservatives and is never pasteurized, we freeze it immediately after processing.
Your aloe may arrive partially or completely thawed, particularly during warm weather. This is expected during frozen transit and does not automatically mean the product has been damaged.
Larger packages generally stay colder longer because the bottles form a greater frozen mass. Customers in longer shipping zones may wish to consider a 4- or 8-bottle package, especially during warmer months.
Storage and Handling
- Open the shipping package promptly when it is delivered.
- Place the bottles in the refrigerator or freezer immediately.
- Keep one bottle refrigerated for current use and store the remaining bottles frozen.
- Use a thawed bottle within approximately 7 to 10 days.
- If you will not finish a bottle within that time, divide it into smaller freezer-safe containers and refreeze it promptly.
- Do not freeze or refreeze the aloe in glass containers.
Each BPA-free jug has a 64-oz capacity but contains 58 oz of aloe vera gel. The unfilled space allows the aloe to expand safely when frozen.
